DO THE WORK: BLACK LIVES MATTER

As I sit here to type up this blog post this morning in front of my computer, a privilege in its own setting, I am angry, sad, furious, and searching for where to begin to work.
The work that needs to be done this week is not creating normal content on my instagram. The work that needs to be done this week is not creating new designs. The work that needs to be done this week is not furthering my platform to promote myself or other white owned businesses.
The work that needs to be done this week is to step away from my normal tasks of the week. The work that needs to be done this week are buying books, listening to podcasts, and watching documentaries to educate myself on anti-racism. The work that needs to be done this week is muting my regular content to fund-raise for organizations working for the injustices of our broken system. The work that needs to be done this week is to compile resources to educate others and myself. The work that needs to be done this week is write emails and making phone calls to our elected officials. So much work NEEDS to be done this week and it's only the start, and I will be doing that work this week instead of working for myself, a privilege.
My online shop WILL BE CLOSED from June 2 - June 7 to BEGIN this work. This work will not be done in a weeks time, but I need to take the time to learn where to start and how I can truly help. I stand with the Black Community, I do not know your pain, but I commit to using my voice and action to pursue justice and fight for equality.
DO THE WORK & START BY DONATING:
(a few to start)
Go Fund Me created by George's brother to aid in court fees/travel related costs, funeral costs, mental health services, to seek justice for George, & care for his children/and educational fund for them.
Black Visions Collective "...use the guidance and brilliance of our ancestors as well as the teachings of our own experiences to pursue our commitment to dismantling systems of oppression & violence."
Raising money to rebuild the small businesses & community organizations.
