Have you seen my favorite movie, "Call Me By Your Name"? The first time I saw this film was at the residency, where we all watched it together outdoors under the stars on the farm. It was filmed in the same region as Residenza Lago Scuro, Lombardy. The visage featured in this piece is that of "A Roman Athlete", a statue shown in the movie's beginning credits that I thought was a beautiful fusion of both Elio and Oliver. What a tender movie, that showcases Lombardy in a way that can't be seen unless you go yourself.
This year, I was able to travel back to Lombardy and headed north with friends to Sirmione to enjoy some time on the beach at Lake Garda. Here is where the scene of Elio, his father, and Oliver take a trip to be part of an archeological discovery of a bronze Roman statue.
